BJP Nagaland doing best in handling COVID-19 pandemic situation- Patton

Appeal public to strictly follow government guidelines

Nagaland’s deputy chief minister and BLP leader Y. Patton on Sunday stated that in time of COVID- 19 pandemic, the Nagaland state BJP has been doing its best in handling the situation.


“In this time of COVID-19 pandemic, the BJP Nagaland state unit is doing its best in handling the situation,” said Patton in his address at Nagaland Virtual Rally (Live Video Conference) here in its Head office in commemoration of one year completion of NAMO 2.0.


In Nagaland, BJP is a coalition partner of Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA) government, having 12 legislators in the house of 60 in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.


From distributing essential commodities to the stranded migrant laborers and stranded students in the state, Patton said the state BJP had distributed essential commodities in various towns and villages, and also shares packed food to the needy people.


It also procured fogging machines from South Korea and distributed to all the district headquarters for sanitizing public places. The party distributed PPE kits to the frontline workers and to all the District Task Force of the state.


 “Also, the State BJP legislators have been extending financial assistance to various sections of the needy people in all the districts in Nagaland and committed to continue doing so,” he said.


While drawing inspiration from "Aatma Nirbhar Bharat," call made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state BJP had distributed Kharif crop seeds to all the districts to encourage agri and allied farming in the state, the deputy chief minister said.


Meanwhile, Patton urged upon all the BJP Karyakartas to continue to give more efforts in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic.


“Together we can work and overcome this pandemic crisis,” he said.


Patton also made a fervent appeal to general public to strictly follow the government guidelines by maintaining social distancing, personal hygiene, wearing of face masks, regular hand washing habits and using the hand sanitizers etc.
