Kohima, February 15 (MExN): A day after the NDPP accused Odisha Governor Dr. SC Jamir of being “openly involved” in campaigning for a certain candidate, the BJP Nagaland on Thursday also issued a statement making the same allegations. In this regard, the BJP Nagaland shot off a complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland “strongly protesting” Jamir’s involvement in the electioneering process. In a separate press release, the BJP Nagaland alleged that Jamir is “brazenly taking part in election campaigns” in favour of Congress and NPF candidates while stationed at Mokokchung. “After taking oath of office, a Governor is not supposed to indulge in any political party activities and remain non-partisan while discharging his or her duties,” it asserted and asked Jamir to resign if he is so keen to enter state politics again. In this connection, the BJP Nagaland urged the President of India to take action against Jamir “for committing constitutional impropriety and dereliction of duties”.
