BJP Nagaland welcomes dismissal of ILP case

The whole state BJP party unit today joined the rest of the Nagas in rejoicing at the victory, and the subsequent dismissal of the ILP case that came up for hearing in the Supreme Court today before the Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice Aniruddha Bose.


The PIL on the ILP issue was filed by one Ashwini Kumar Upadhya verses Union of India in W P (C) No. 594/ 2019.


The Honorable Court had dismissed the petition, and therefore the challenge to the ILP had failed and put to rest, according to media officer to Nagaland state BJP president.


The State BJP Party expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all the different Naga organizations, all concern citizens of Nagaland, and various other apex bodies and NGOs who have come forward to expressed their discontentment at the filing of the ILP in the Supreme Court of India.


It also appreciated the role of Advocate General K N Balgopal who fought the case on behalf of the Government of Nagaland, and also Nagaland’s deputy chief minister Y. Patton who maneuver the situation from Delhi, and followed the case relentlessly to see that it is dismissed off by all means.


It also conveyed deepest regards and respect to State BJP president Temjen Imna Along, who personally took the crux of the matter upon himself, and had even talked to Ashwini to withdraw the case immediately.


It is worth mentioning that the President, as promised in his earlier statements, has gone all out of his way to see that the PIL filed in the Supreme Court by Ashwini Kumar Upadhya is dismissed off at all cost, for the safety and welfare of the Naga people, and the victory that “we have witnessed today is an attribution of his deep concern for the Nagas,” the media officer stated.
