BJP Nagaland welcomes JLF but wants consensus on Naga issue

DIMAPUR, JULY 26 (MExN): The Nagaland State BJP unit has appreciated the initiative of the Joint Legislators Forum (JLF) comprising of 60 members both from NPF-44 and Congress-16 willing to step down from the present position in the event of Indo-Naga political settlement, for which they will proceed to Delhi to discuss with the VVIPS and Central leaders on 7th and 8th August 2012.

However the BJP Nagaland was of the view that before the JLF embarks to Delhi, the Chief Minister of Nagaland should have convened a joint consultation forum with various NGOs, National workers of different factions, Naga Hoho, Political parties and the public of Nagaland. “This would have been appropriate and more positive by first taking on to confidence of all with a consensus approach”, stated K.James Vizo Spokesman and General Secretary BJP Nagaland.

As in the past, the BJP stated that experiences have shown that divided opinions and approaches have always gone against our cherished aspiration for lasting peace and honorable solution. “The people have suffered enough during the long political struggle, therefore a collective opinion and approach is the need of the hour at this crucial juncture of our political movement.

People want solution which will be everlasting and not a Piece- Meal Solution”.

Meanwhile, in order to assess the current party affairs and the development at the state level, the BJP MP Guardian and Nagaland in charge Rajen Gohain  who was appointed by Smti Sushma Swaraj has visited and interacted extensively with the State Senior BJP workers at Dimapur on 26/07/2012.

The State BJP High Power Committee has released and submitted a booklet report on “Eastern Nagaland demand on Statehood” to the visiting MP Rajen Gohain for further perusal and necessary action at the central level, the press note informed.

The BJP State unit expressed its gratitude to the Guardian and in charge MP for extending all logistic support and assured the party to highlight the State vital issues in the forth coming Parliament session as per the state BJP unit reports.

Further, the State BJP Unit in the general interest for “Peace and Development” of Nagaland State has stated that   the party will apprise its Central leaders to extend all possible help.
