Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): The 30th Alongtaki BJP Mandal has said that PMGSY road and bridge projects amounting to approximately Rs 40.74 crore in the 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency were achieved through the initiative of the PDA government, led by Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio.
A press release from the BJP Mandal issued the clarification in response to a recent press release by the 30th Alongtaki A/C Congress Committee. It stated that while it respected the right of political parties and organisations to express their views and raise development issues, "it is equally important that the public record accurately reflects the efforts and initiatives through which these projects were achieved."
The BJP stated that the projects were achieved through the "positive initiative of the Government of the day led by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio," adding that the MLA of the 30th Alongtaki A/C, Temjen Imna Along, is also Minister of Tourism & Higher Education. Under PMGSY-IV, the road projects listed by the BJP are Lirmen to Tsuremmen, sanctioned at Rs 10.38 crore; JRR Junction to Aonokpu at Rs 2.46 crore; L026 to Longjemdang at Rs 2.60 crore; and T-01 to Moayimti at Rs 3.46 crore. The BJP said the approval and sanction of the projects "stand as a testament to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s towards Viksit Bharat 2047," adding that the vision of a developed India also envisages "the journey of a developed Nagaland." The party further stated that it had actively pursued another seven to eight road projects spanning more than 100 km, which are "currently in an advanced stage of consideration with the Central Government" to improve connectivity in the constituency.
On the Congress' claim over development achievements, the BJP said, "Any attempt by Congress party of the A/C, to take credit for developmental achievements in the constituency is an unrealistic effort to mislead and build a false narrative for selfish political adventures." It stated that the Central and State governments had been under the NDA alliance since 2014, with the BJP and NPF as partners, and asserted that the sanctioning of the projects was "the resultant of the PDA Government's positive achievement in 30th Alongtaki Assembly Constituency."
"The true measure of any development initiative lies in the benefit it delivers to the public," the BJP stated. The party said it remained committed to "constructive politics, development oriented governance" and would "incessantly continue our efforts towards improving public connectivity and infrastructure."
