BJP says it is for ‘integral humanism’

Jubilation surrounded the rank and file of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state today as they observed the 38th BJP foundation day here and celebrated the victory of its 12 candidates in the last state general election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.  

Speaking on the occasion, BJP legislator and Higher & technical education Minister, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer challenged the party workers to lay a foundation in the right way in every approach and serve the people with dedication.  

He urged upon the BJP party workers to be the “ears and eyes of the people, the hands and legs of the poor people” and stand against corruption.   Longkumer said the foundation of BJP party is a nationalist foundation stressing on the points to bring development and progress to its citizens.  

He also challenged the party workers to let the people know that BJP has no other agenda other than to see a prosperous, dynamic, developed, corruption-free land filled with prosperity.  

The minister also urged upon the party workers to reach out their hearts and hands to the people and be the medium to bring change in the society.  

‘RSS not for converting Christian into Hindu’

Dr. M. Chuba Ao, Chairman MARCOFED Nagaland and former state BJP president said “We have to understand the ideology of the BJP. It is not the ideology of BJP to convert Christian into Hindu.”  

He told the gathering that the official ideology of the BJP party is “integral humanism.” Saying that many people have given wrong conception of the RSS, he pointed out that RSS is a national volunteer organization and their aim is to give nationalism in the right track. “They are not for converting Christianity into Hinduism,” he added.  

Dr. Ao also requested the state BJP to organize seminar and training for the party workers so that they will be equipped to serve the nation. Further, he urged upon the party workers to support the legislators who are in governance to go for good governance, saying that good governance is the agenda of BJP.  

K. James Vizo, convener Media Cell BJP Nagaland said that BJP is a strong political party with strong ideology. On the 12 BJP legislators in the present 13th house of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, he said “Today we are in a quite comfortable position.”  

With six cabinet ministers in the present ministry of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA), Vizo stressed on the need to gear up and fulfill the commitment made to the electorate during election time.  

Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been focusing on corruption- free and good governance, he said this should also be the focus in Nagaland. “We need to perform and transformation should take place in Nagaland,” he added.
