BJP senior member NC Max’s demise mourned

Dimapur, June 19 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland unit have mourned the demise of NC Max Zeliang, a senior member of BJP Nagaland, on June 18 in Dimapur.  

Max was the first State Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president in 1995, the Peren BJP district president from 2012- 2016, and State Executive Member till date, informed BJP Nagaland Media Cell.  

Governor: The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya expressed grief at the demise. In a condolence message, he said that Max was the son of late NC Zeliang, a "close friend" and one of the pioneer leaders of Nagaland State BJP. “NC Max’s demise is a great loss to the people of Nagaland in general and the party in particular,” the Governor added. He prayed to Almighty to give strength to his family members to withstand the demise.  

BJP: “Late NC Max was a loyal party worker whose loyalty stood the test of time and stood with the party through thick and thin throughout its history of tumultuous development,” stated a condolence message from BJP Nagaland State general secretary, Jaangsillung Gonmei. “He had held several posts in the party and his sacrifices and contributions shall be remembered and cherished for all times,” it added. The party expressed grief over the demise and prayed for comfort and strength of the family he has left behind.  

NCD: Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) also expressed shock at the demise of Max, who served as councilor since 2010 till his death. “He was a leader who was actively involved in the activities of Naga Council contributing to harmony and good will in Dimapur and Nagas in general,” Thsapongkyu Sangtam, general secretary, NCD stated in a condolence note. Naga Council Dimapur expressed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
