BJP ST Morcha Natl Secy lashes out at NDPP

New Delhi, February 11 (MExN): In a strange turn of events, BJP’s ST Morcha National Secretary, Hayithung Bill Lotha, has lashed out at PDA coalition partner, NDPP, that is ruling in Nagaland over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 (CAB).

“Even as the entire North-East is undergoing a tumultuous upheaval in connection with the CAB, Nagaland Government led by NDPP has hangdog the Nagas,” stated Lotha in a statement confirmed to be sent by him to the press today.

Alleging that the ruling dispensation is toeing the line of the powers that be in Delhi, Lotha lamented that the Nagaland State Government has manifested "devils and monsters against Naga people" by “letting the lone NDPP Lok Sabha MP vote in favour of the CAB on January 8, when it was passed in the Lok Sabha.”

He also termed the January 31 Consultative Meeting in Dimapur "wheedling and inveiglement for the NDPP to garner Naga public sympathy.”

Noting that the Nagaland Chief Minister’s leadership is “nefariously harming the interest of the Nagas birth-right to self rule by supporting the CAB,” Lotha stated that the CAB will “destroy and annihilate the Nagas forever because the logic and political long term implications is based on making Hindu Hindustan a reality, which is one of the core RSS agenda.”

Lotha feared that “lakhs if not crores” of Hindu immigrants will get Indian citizenship under the CAB and “We will become slaves, bondservant and third-rate citizens in our own ancestral lands.”

Taking a sharp turn on its political approach, BJP ST Morcha National Secretary praised the NPF led by Nagaland Opposition Leader and Former Chief Minister TR Zeliang for giving a “firm and irrevocable” statement against the CAB at North East region's political parties’ convention on January 29 where he is said to have stated that “Nagas cannot wholly rely on BEFR 1873 or ILP regulations.”

He praised Zeliang and NPF President Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu’s leadership and their stands on the CAB issue with various adjectives like "great political understanding,” “strong and solid,” “commendable, sterling and creditable job.”

In the future, “the NDPP must not tell lies, mislead, cheat and fool the Nagas because CAB is a matter of life and death,” Lotha advised because using Article 371-A to justify the NDPP’s stand is “one of the great catastrophe and cataclysm and the biggest betrayal by govt. to its people in the annals of history.”
