BJP State Executive Meeting concludes

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): The two day 3rd State Executive Meeting of BJP Nagaland concluded on October 15 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.  

The meeting was attended by 145 members including 102 official delegates from districts, state and national level. On the first day, state BJP President, Visasolie Lhoungu, in his Presidential speech presented an account of the party’s activities in the last three months and laid out the party’s programmes and policies in the coming months.  

Reports from the districts except from Peren were presented by the District Presidents followed by reports from the Presidents of the five State Morchas.  

Minister for Transport, IT and Communications, P. Paiwang Konyak spoke at length on issues related to party’s improvement and party’s prospects in the state.

  Dr. T. Lotha, Advisor, Treasuries & Accounts, Relief and Rehabilitation, also encouraged the party delegates to work hard towards the party’s goal to bring all round developments.  

Imtilemba Sangtam, Advisor, Cooperatives, detailed the party’s past and present achievements and advised party members to take the party to higher levels of achievements.  

On the concluding day October 15, Eduzu Theluo, General Secretary (Adm) presented a report on the party activities undertaken in the last three months, which was followed by speeches by I.K. Sema, former Dep. Chief Minister, H.K. Khulu, Convenor of Finance and Development Committee, and Dr. T.M. Lotha, Advisor, Treasuries & Accounts, Relief and Rehabilitation. Khulu gave an account of the party and the programmes that has to be initiated to further develop the party.  

Saroj Pandey, National General Secretary, who is on a maiden three day visit to the state from Delhi attended the second session.  

In her address to the delegates, Pandey stated that she found Nagaland interesting except for the bumpy roads. Pandey added that she looked forward to understanding the state of affairs in Nagaland.  

Later, Pandey held a series of meetings with party officials until Sunday and is scheduled to visit Dimapur 3 mandal committees and Bamun Pukhri Local Area Committee on Monday morning before her departure to Calcutta en route to Agartala.  

All the party members stationed at Dimapur are informed to assemble at Hotel Saramati on October 17 before 8:00 am to accompany and attend the meeting with the National General Secretary.  

Earlier, five new members were felicitated and welcomed to the party during the meeting. They include: Chusang Chang; Mulai Khiammugan; Dr. Temsuwati, Rtd. Addl. Development Commissioner; Vihuto Yephthomi, Rtd. Secretary; and L.L. Doungel Kuki, Social Worker.
