I K Sema appointed as Advisor
Dimapur, October 1 (MExN): The BJP Nagaland State office in its meeting held on October 1 resolved to issue a general clarification that joining the party and obtaining party memberships and posts are not assurances for any election tickets at any level of State elections. This was informed in a press release issued by Jaangsillung Gonmei, General Secretary (Media), BJP Nagaland, which also welcomed new members of the party.
The release stated that aspiring candidates for various elections of the town, municipal, assembly elections have to apply for tickets separately after the notification/announcement of elections by the Election Commission. The BJP Nagaland looked forward to cooperation from prospective candidates "who would provide effective leadership in creating a positive socially cohesive environment for an all round development, specifically a vibrant economy." Meanwhile, the BJP informed that three former MLAs, namely I.K. Sema, former Deputy Chief Minister, Kheto Sema, former Forest Minister, and L. Temjen Jamir, former MLA from Tuli constituency, have joined the party. They were enlisted in the party on September 20.
“The State BJP appreciated their heeding of the clarion call of the Prime Minister Modi to curb corruption which inspired and prompted them to join the BJP to build the party and a corruption free nation,” stated the press release. The party has appointed I.K. Sema as Advisor in the Advisory board. The BJP Nagaland congratulated and wished the three well in their new venture.
Further, it also welcomed several new members who had joined the party in recent months all over the State.
