Blackout at Diphupar ‘A’

Morung Express News Dimapur | December 1   Like the ongoing the electricity rationing was not enough, certain localities continue to be plagued with extended power cuts. Diphupar ‘A’ village in Dimapur was one such victim as consumers of the village had to endure an extended outage since the morning of November 30.   A Diphupar ‘A’ resident informed that power supply to the village was yet to resume as on Friday evening. As per the resident, supply did not resume since the last load-shedding ritual affected sometime on the intervening night. Supply resumed briefly in the afternoon today only to go off again, it was added.   A Power department official admitted the extended outage as the result of a “fault” in the supply line feeding the village. The official said that workers were on the job to detect and rectify the “fault.” The workers corrected a suspected “fault” in the afternoon today but the problem persisted, the official said; while adding that supply was cut as a result and effort were on to rectify the problem as soon as possible. The official added that the workers were hopeful that supply would resume following the 6:00pm-9:00pm load-shedding time.
