Niuland, October 23 (MExN): The Ghotovi Village Council (GVC) has informed that there will be a blanket ban on fishing and picnic from October 24 till further notice. “Any person found violating the Azah will be penalized as per the law of the land,” stated a public notice issued by Kivigho Zhimomi, Secretary, GVC.
The ban is being enforced for the overall health of villages under Niuland district getting water supply from Ghotovi village, it said. It informed that on many occasions, unknown picnickers were found dirtying and bathing in the main water supply source. Fishing parties and picnickers have stealthily used poisonous chemicals and bleach, which are harmful to both human and nature, it maintained.
“It is also observed that immoral activities were taking place in the village jurisdiction by the unknown persons thus destroying both nature and the good reputation of the village,” it added. “Any person caught fishing or picnicking during the enforcement of blanket ban shall not be spared under any circumstances.”
