Blend In Events, a group of 11 music lovers, has announced the third edition of World Music Day Rockvival 3.0 which will take place at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
Rockvival 3.0 will feature performances from five bands representing various districts of the state. Unfortunately, the famous band 'Nightmare' from Sikkim will not be able to perform due to adverse weather conditions.
The lineup includes, The Rockvival Project, MIMBIT ft. Various Artists, Hailinator, Stereo Groove, BLYTH featuring Rongpangnok Ozukum, the youngest drummer in the state. Additionally, solo artist Tubescreamer will also perform at the event.
The Organising Committee emphasised that the main objective of this initiative is to provide a platform for the talented musicians of Mokokchung, who have limited opportunities to showcase their skills. While the International Hornbill Festival is a prominent event, it does not accommodate many upcoming artists. Therefore, Blend In Events aims to bridge this gap and encourage local talent through Rockvival.
Blend In Events was established in 2022 and has since been dedicated to providing a platform for musical talent in Mokokchung. The founding members, Wapang Jamir, Tiatemsu Jamir, and Yanger Lemtur, began their journey with the first gig of “Trance Effect” at Urban Hub Cafe. Rockvival 1.0 was held on June 21, 2022, in celebration of World Music Day.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the Task Force for Music and Arts (TAFMA) for their unwavering support in each edition of their even and their event partners and individuals who have supported them along the way.
