Dimapur, April 9 (MExN): On April 8, at around 1635 hrs., a telephonic information was received at East Police Station, Dimapur, stating that one dead body was lying near Police Colony House No.221 infront of Namghar High School gate, Dimapur.
Informing this in a press release, Dy Commissioner of Police (Crime) & PRO, Dimapur stated that accordingly basing on the information, East PS duty party rushed to the PO site and found one non-local male age around 50-60 yrs (approx). “Inquest was conducted over the dead body but no foul play could be ascertained,” the PRO stated.
On examining the witnesses present in and around the place of occurrence, stated that the deceased was a homeless person who often sleep in the area where he was found dead and the cause of dead was suspected to be due to starvation and illness. On completion of all legal formalities, the dead body was shifted to District Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination/identification, the PRO added.
The deceased was wearing dark red coloured long pants, reddish coloured inner half t-shirt and blue coloured outer half t-shirt.
