Body of missing person in flash flood recovered

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): After two days of search and rescue operation, the body of the missing person from a flash flood in Shokhuvi, Dimapur on Sunday was reportedly recovered on October 7.

According to an NSDMA official, the recovery was made from Chümoukedima A area on Wednesday afternoon. It may be mentioned that one vehicle (Mahindra Bolero) with 5 occupants was washed away in a flash flood on October 4. While four of the occupants managed to escape, one person was reported missing.

A search and rescue operation was initiated by the Dimapur district disaster management authority (DDMA) along with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) of Home Guards & Civil Defence.
