Body of Naga woman reaches home

Late Nchineileu Disuang was laid to rest in her native village, Beisumpuikam in Peren District on May 25.


The mortal remains of the Naga woman who passed away on the Dimapur-bound train from Haryana on May 22 reached Dimapur at around 2:30 pm on May 25.


Members of the Beisumpuikam Village Council, women society and students’ union received the body at Dillai gate. A brief prayer service was held at Dillai gate after which the body was taken to Agri Expo, 4th Mile for formalities.


Her mortal remain reached Nagaland from Kanpur on May 25 evening and was received by the Beisumpuikam Village representatives in Dimapur.


The ambulance with the coffin stopped for some minutes outside late Nchineileu's house, where her father bid her farewell on behalf of the family.


The body was then taken to the cemetery accompanied by her father, the Village Council Secretary, Beisumpuikam Baptist Church pastor and the government medical team.


With a bible passage and prayer pronounced by the pastor, late Nchineileu was finally laid to rest.
