The winners of the 8th Unity Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament.

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 21 (MExN): Bokajan Warriors beat Borlengri Titans CC by 46 runs in the final to win the 8th Unity Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament on January 21 at Chümoukedima Local Ground. The tournament was organised by the Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima Youth Sports Ministry.
The champions walked away with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 sponsored by Dr M Chuba Ao, Chairman, MACROFED Ltd along with the running trophy while the runner-up received Rs. 20,000 sponsored by Pintu M Ghosh, State Spokesperson, BJP Nagaland.
Among the individual awards, Nabin Debnath of Bokajan Warriors CC was named the best bowler while Bikash of Hurricane CC was adjudged the best batsman. Nabin Debnath of Bokajan warriors was awarded player of the tournament. Sagar of Ghorapatti Warriors was awarded Emerging Player of the tournament.
The tournament was co-sponoserd by Hamro Chinari, Nagaland, NBC Kohima YD, Little Hut Chümoukedima, Asis Raut & Family, Print point Chümoukedima, Roy Arcade Chümoukedima, Chümou Blog, Global Window and Gorkha Students’ Union Chümoukedima District.
Akavi N Zhimomi, Secretary, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee graced the ceremony as special guest while MB Aley, Retd Assistant Director, Department of School Education was the guest of honour in conjunction to the event.
Zhimomi encouraged the youth to be role models and to be the backbone of society. MB Aley highlighted about the significance of the Gorkhas in Nagaland and also wished the organizers and players the very best in their future endeavours.
During the Tournament, which had match patrons from various fields, the youths were encouraged to have the spirit and passion of dignity of labour. Convenor Rohan Sunar of the 8th Unity Cup encouraged the players to stand firm in their commitment until the next Tournament in 2024.
