Students perform during the ‘Bollywood Saga’ event at St. Joseph University on March 13.
DIMAPUR, MARCH 16 (MExN): The Literary Club of St. Joseph University, in collaboration with the Department of English, hosted ‘Bollywood Saga: A Celebration of Retro Bollywood’ on March 13, bringing students together for a day of literature, music, and film-inspired performances.
The event featured both formal and informal sessions, with Lanuakum, an M.A. English student, serving as host. It opened with an invocation by Livina, followed by a welcome address from Literary Club President Kainali Chishi.
A highlight of the inaugural session was the launch of Songs of the Quintessence, a poetry collection by Sedeneino Yiese, a sixth-semester B.A. English student. The book, reflecting the author's personal journey, was officially released by Deputy Registrar Rev. Sr. Dr. Thianes Mary, DMI.
The second session saw an array of entertainment, including musical performances, dance, cosplay, and reenactments of classic Bollywood scenes. Students from various departments showcased their talents in an atmosphere filled with nostalgia and celebration.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mhonbeni, the club’s finance secretary.
