
Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): More organizations today condemned the bomb attack on a medical store – Ideal Chemist – at Nyamo Lotha Road in Dimapur by unknown persons on May 29 night. The organizations also offered condolences to the family of the person killed in the incident and wished speedy recovery to those injured.
BAD: “Such kinds of crimes are most cowardly and unreasonable. Every individual should stand up and condemn such violent crimes which are being committed in our society and that such perpetrators should be rooted out from our society,” asserted Business Association of Darogapathar Village (BAD) in a press statement issued by its general secretary, Limala Walling and president, Imenuklo Longchar. The Association further urged the authorities concerned for quick delivery of justice.
BJP: In a separate press note, Nagaland State BJP expressed shock that “such heinous crimes should happen in a civilian area shaking the confidence of the citizens.” The State President Visasolie Lhoungu and party members have expressed grave concern about the law and order situation and have demanded that the perpetrators should not be spared and should be booked at the earliest and let justice prevail, added the release issued by party general secretary (Media) Jaangsillung Gonmei. The party also asked the authorities concerned to take appropriate measures to prevent such heinous incidents from happening again.
CNTC: The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has declared that the state security agencies should leave no stone unturned to arrest the perpetrators. “We cannot remain mere mute spectators when such things are happening right before our eyes in our own homes. The people had enough of these violent despicable acts from some unwanted elements trying to keep the whole society at ransom,” CNTC Media Cell stated in a press release. The Council further urged the state security agencies to apprehend the culprits and award befitting punishment.
DDCF: The Dimapur District Citizens Forum (DDCF) stated of late it has been concerned about the lawlessness in and around Dimapur and appealed to the law enforcing agencies and the administration to ensure the safety and security of the law abiding citizens. The Forum further appealed to all citizens to maintain peace and harmony and not to panic, while requesting the police to be more vigilant to ensure safety of the citizens.
Naga Hoho: Condemning the incident, the Naga Hoho maintained “such heinous act is unacceptable in any society- especially one like ours where we are striving to achieve a lasting peace- and therefore should be condemned by one and all.” It appealed to the State Government and its machineries to nab those involved at the earliest and also requested the State Government to grant ex-gratia to all the affected people.
NCD: The Naga Council Dimapur described the incident “dastardly and devious act with the intention to deliberately disturb an environment of peace and harmony longing in the state.” A condemnation note from Thsapongkyu Sangtam, general secretary, NCD added, “Whatever could be the reason; such act of intimating with bombs and guns is not unacceptable in Naga society.” The Council further appealed to the law enforcing agencies engaged in the probe to go deep into the incident and book the culprits at the earliest. It also expressed solidarity with the proprietor and employees of the shop.
NPF Dimapur: The NPF Dimapur Division also condemned the act and asserted, “Such heinous crimes against the peace loving people will not be tolerated.” It further appealed to the law enforcement agencies to seriously investigate and book the culprits at the earliest.
PCCI: Phek Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) condemning the incident requested the Government of Nagaland to pay more attention and provide experts in such cases as they are surfacing each year, creating insecurity among the business community and putting the public at risk.
TSUD: The Tenyimi Students’ Union Dimapur (TSUD) in a press statement issued by General Secretary A. Shyerhunlo Lorin and President Azo Wetsah termed the attack “inhumanly barbarous act” and urged the District Administration to investigate the case in a serious manner.
All units alerted to hunt culprits: GPRN/NSCN
Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN today informed that all its units have been alerted to hunt the culprit(s) of the May 29 bomb attack in Dimapur “as there is no place for such people in this civilised world.” In a press statement issued by the MIP, it has sought cooperation from all the people to ensure that peaceful atmosphere is protected. The GPRN/NSCN further condemned the incident stating “such cowardly acts are nothing less than acts of terrorism.” It also conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and wished that God grant speedy recovery to all the injured victims.
