A bomb trap was found laid along NH-202 in Manipur on Monday morning.
Police suspect the bomb trap, a grenade with one end of a string fixed on its pin and other end on a tree on the roadside, was laid by militants targeting security force personnel on ROP duty.
The bomb was found by troops of 24 Assam Rifles at a place 10 meters short of Sikh Memorial under Litan police station this morning, around 6 am.
The bomb was later defused by bomb experts, reports said.
