DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 3 (MExN): ‘Parenting Act Ingrain in Sümi Naga’ authored by Benjamin Sümi a Tricenarian from Lithsami village in Zunheboto district was released on October 1. The book has been published by Dimapur Publishing Company and was  launched 1 at Sümi Baptist Church Diphupar with Hotoli V Chishi as special guest.

“The social reality and the parenting pattern in Naga society needs reorganization. So in order to shift from the repetitive, monotonous and adult dominant parenting style the author researched and pen down his thought,” a press note on the book release stated.

It added that Naga parents have focused only on two aspects when nurturing children, “i.e. spiritual and physical forgetting the foremost need of our children, that is to developmental and emotional attachment with their parents.” Due to the lack of effective parenting our families and society are disoriented, it added.

The key concern of this book is to empower parents so that they mould their children for a secure and healthier generation. It will also serve as a resource for the parents to formulate a refined parenting style. The book will enlighten parents, which will enhance them to visualize a comprehensive roadmap for nursing and nurturing the children, the press release said.
