Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mon, W. Honje Konyak, NCS released a booklet on package of practices of Large Cardamom in Konyak dialect, translated by Y. Bongti Konyak, District Horticulture Officer and B. Yanang Konyak published by the Spices Board of India on May 9 at DC Conference Hall.
Addressing as the chief guest, DC Mon congratulated the DHO, Mon for successfully translating the guidelines in Konyak dialect and publishing 6000 copies and said, “It’s a significant day for the farmers.”
He urged the farmers to strictly follow the guidelines of the plantation process as the booklet is made after the thorough scientific research, changing the mindset of traditional farming and to work towards maximum product by following the guide lines. He requested the farmers from the village to share the guidelines with the other fellow villagers once they go back to village after the programme for the general benefit of all.
He also suggested Agri and Allied Department to identify and differentiate various locations for different types of plantations and help the farmers.
Senior Field Officer, Spices Board of India while delivering a short speech assured that they would extend all help if the farmers would like to go for field exposure. Bongti Konyak, DHO Mon delivered welcome speech and Shikmeth Konyak, HEA expressed vote of thanks.
