Brigadier served ‘capital punishment’: GPRN/NSCN

DIMAPUR, MARCH 24 (MExN): Ending days of speculation, the GPRN/NSCN today said Brig. Khungwang alias Chipu Menon has been served ‘capital punishment for treason’.
“Brig. Khungwang Alias Chipu Menon was warned many times to stop conniving with enemies of the Naga people however one crime after the other was committed against the Nation,” MIP, GPRN/NSCN stated.
He was therefore “given capital punishment” on March 17, “as per the National Yehzabo.”
“Revolutionaries are respected the world over for their commitments and unsparing sacrifice for the cause they believe in. There are instances when such determined men and women abuse their authorities and responsibilities that devalue the very cause they stand for. A time comes when accountability for one’s action must be made known,” the GPRN/NSCN said.
Justifying its action, the GPRN/NSCN cited five instances:
He was responsible for killing 5 (five) senior citizen from Bordoria and Kaimai village under Tirap district just on the pretext that they were working for NSCN(IM) in the year 1999 while there was no IM cadres in the entire district.
He was seriously engaged in the formation of the new outfit ANLF (Arunachal Naga Liberation Force) in Tirap and Changlang since 2010.
He was rampantly extorting money in the name of the new outfit from the business establishments as well as from the locals.
He was directly involved in the killing and kidnapping of Mr. Sanjay Kumar, an employee with APMDPCL (Arunachal Pradesh Mineral Development and Trading Corporation Limited) from Kharsang Coal field in connivance with his ANLF members.
He is also responsible for the death of two People’s Liberation Army (PLA) personnel.
The GPRN/NSCN said in September 2009, Brig. Khungwang took the PLA men from Tinsukia from Changlang and  passed the information to the Indian Military Intelligence and that very night itself before they could board a bus both of them were picked from Tinsukia, tortured the whole night and later killed. “The two bodies were later dump inside Arunachal pradesh with multiple bullet injuries,” it alleged.
GPRN/NSCN said it “will not be kind to people who orchestrate treachery and treason”. “The National cause is too precious to let anyone continue to indulge in anti-national activity,” it added.
