Financial Literacy Camp conducted at Yoruba Village
Chozuba, July 4 (MExN): The Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd. Chozuba Branch organized Financial Literacy Camp (FLC) on June 26 at Yoruba Village. The camp was supported by FIF and managed by NABARD.
The programme was chaired by Gaijulung, Accountant Chozuba Branch, while Pukrolhu Lohe said the invocation. Vesolhu Veswuh, Council Chairman while delivering the welcome address expressed gratitude to both NABARD and NStCB Ltd officials for conducting the camp in their village in spite the deplorable road condition.
PP Bose, Manager, PR Hill branch in his keynote address explained about the role and functions of NStCB and apprised the participants to approach the Branch for availing of any credit facilities available since the NStCB Ltd mostly target the rural poor farmers to develop their living economy through Banking.
S. Kevi Hibo, Assistant BM & I/C Nodal Centre Kohima briefing about the concept and purpose of conducting FLC in the rural villages said that it is to financially include the rural poor populace in the banking fold since majority of the rural poor people of India have no bank accounts. They are deprived of receiving any benefit payable to them by GOI/agencies directly to their personal accounts, formation of JLG, SHG, Farmers club, opening of various types of accounts in the bank and social security such as PMJJBY, PMSBY and APY, Hibo added.
Lhuveyi Lohe requested the Chozuba area people to bank with the NStCB Ltd as is more convenient and customers friendly and also it is equipped with all facilities available with the other advancing banking institute. Lohe also highlighted the Branch profile and challenged the area people to give more efforts in loan recovery.
In the interactive session, Hibo responded to the queries raised by the participants. The programme was adjourned with vote of thanks from Mudhi GB and benediction by Cekhwuruh Chaplan, Village Council Yoruba.
