A farewell programme for the outgoing Senior Auxiliary Secretary, Dimapur Auxiliary, Bible Society of India (BSI), Reverend Dr ZK Rochill was hosted by the Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church (DSBC) this morning on November 2.
‘Man of hard labour’
Acknowledging the gift of leadership and integrity which are not written in blackboards, Reverend Halli Likha, President, Dimapur Auxiliary expressed gratitude for the privilege of meeting and working with Rev Rochill. Rev Likha acknowledged his gift of humor, which was always refreshing and positive, the joy that staff members felt even in trying times. Describing him as a ‘man of hard labour,’ that possess trust and accountability in all matters, his demonstration of leadership was praise worthy and a motivation for all the staff, Rev Likha said and further acknowledged his wife and family, who was behind his success.
‘More of a friend, less of a boss’
In a tearful farewell speech on behalf of the staffs of Dimapur Auxiliary, Zakiebito Terhuja, Media Incharge described Rev Rochill as an exceptional leader and a mentor, stating that he was not only a leader, but a loving and caring one.
“More of a friend, less of a boss,” he quoted and said Rev Rochill was truly a man after the heart of God, and his family a testimony for all. He further said that punctuality was in his blood and BSI in his heart. If one were to test his DNA, one would find BSI.
Terhuja further wished the outgoing Secretary with nothing but success and happy moments ahead of him.
‘A dynamic man of vision’
The speaker of the programme, Rev Dr N Paphino, President NCRC gave glory and honour to God for the privilege to bid farewell to ‘someone who loves the Lord, loves the Bible, and who loves all of us.’ The speaker described Rev Rochill as his spiritual friend, united in heart to serve the Lord together through BSI. “A dynamic man of vision, who is never seen in a sad mood or in failure,” Rev Paphino reminded him that retirement is a time of victory. The speaker further shared the challenging and rewarding life of Moses from the Bible. Recalling the incident of the bush burning, but which was not burnt out, he said “that is the life of Rochill.”
Rev Rochill to join DSBC as Senior Pastor
Retiring as the senior most in the ministry of BSI, and coinciding with his birthday as he turned 65 today, Rev Rochill shared his experiences and miracles during his 33 years of service in BSI. Along with Rev Megomezo Savino, whom he described as a silent hard worker, as pioneers they started out of nothing, he recalled. He joined BSI on November 6, 1985 as Distribution Promoter Grade II and was gradually elevated to Senior Auxiliary Secretary. His 33 years of service and married life did not come across any accidents in the BSI family for which he thanked the Lord.
Under the service of Rev Rochill, the present Dimapur Auxiliary Office has been built, the BSI has produced 37 Bibles, 27 New Testament, 1 Study Bible, 7 Children’s Bible and also digital Bibles. At present, Dimapur Auxiliary looks after Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Karbi Anglong, and has 111 different tribes. Rev Rochill will be joining the DSBC as Senior Pastor in the coming year of January. He requested the congregation to always remember the Bible Society and reminded them of their constant prayer support.
Earlier in the programme, presentation was done by Marla Ao, Executive Member BSI. Token of love and appreciation was presented to the outgoing Secretary by various organizations and Churches; among them were Nyishi Baptist Church Council Arunachal Pradesh, SBAK, WSBAK, ABAM, well wishers and patron members.
The moderator of the programme was Rev L Lima Jamir, Auxiliary Committee Member; special song was presented by DSBC Music committee, farewell song by Dimapur Auxiliary staff. Benediction was done by Rev Weyiete Lohe.
