
DIMAPUR, APRIL 23 (MExN): The Bible Society of India (BSI), Dimapur Auxiliary held its 20th Annual Thanksgiving-cum-Bible Conference from April 22 to 23 at Diphu Baptist Church, Diphu.
The event was hosted by BSI Diphu Branch. Auxiliary Committee members, Office Bearers of the Branches and Church leaders from Arunachal Pradesh, Karbi Along, Nagaland and Manipur participated in the Annual Thanksgiving service. The members expressed gratitude to the Auxiliary Committee members, sub-committee members, office bearers of the Branches and volunteers for the support in the ministry.
On April 22, Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary preached the word of God. He explained the meaning and importance of having Bible Conference. “It leads to strong faith and evangelism,” he said. On April 23, Rev. Dr. Solomon Rongpi, Pastor and President of Diphu Branch chaired the service. Rev.
Dr. N. Paphino, President, Dimapur Auxiliary spoke to Word of God. He emphasized that the origin of God’s word is from God himself. He stated that Christianity is the largest religion in the world. “The Bible Society is the second largest organization next to United Nations Organization and the BSI is the second oldest organization next to British and Foreign Bible Society,” he said. We are proud to be part of this big organization in the ministry of God’s Word, he added. He pointed out that Karbi Bible was produced in 1952, the first vernacular Bible under Dimapur Auxiliary.
Rev. K. S. Rongthang pronounced the opening prayer and Rev. Primingson Millik, Diphu Branch Secretary proposed word of welcome. Those Kraho, President, Kohima Branch shared his experiences in the ministry of the BSI. Special songs were presented by Kohima Team, Presbyterian Church Youth, Diphu, Birla, Diphu Baptist Church Youth and a solo from Kohima team.
Rev. Tenga Seb, Treasurer, BSI Dimapur Auxiliary presented the acknowledgement certificates to three branches highest contributions—Kohima, Churachandpur and Mokokchung. Rev. Vanmawia, President, Churachandpur Branch offered thanksgiving prayer for the Church and individuals and branches. Marwati, Asst. Officer, proposed vote of thanks and Rev. L. Timothy Phamai, President Imphal Branch offered benediction.
