Pughoboto, March 9 (MExN): The Bible Society of India (BSI), Dimapur Auxiliary inaugurated the BSI Pughoboto Branch on March 5 at SABAK Mission Centre, Pughoboto.


Leaders from Sümi Aphuyemi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu, Nagaland Christian Revival Church (Sümi), Police Baptist Churches, Pughoboto Town Baptist Church, Baptist and Revival Churches of Pughoboto Town and Mishilimi Baptist Church attended the inaugural programme.


This was followed by a one-day seminar on the importance of the ministry of Bible Society of India.


Rev Dr Yiepetso Wezah shared about the ministry of BSI, stating that it translates the Word of God into different languages of people. BSI has so far translated the Bible into 65 languages and additional New Testament into 70 languages. There are 1562 officially recognized languages and there is a huge task to be done in order to give God’s Word to people, the organizers said in their press release on Monday.


BSI aims to solve the problem of Bible poverty, it added. 


The programme was chaired by Rev Vitoka Kinimi, Executive Secretary NCRC. Ahovi Swu, pastor, Pughoboto Town Baptist Church read Bible and prayed for the programme while Rev Hotokhü P Zhimomi, Executive Secretary, SABAK and Central Executive Committee member of BSI, introduced the office bearers for BSI Pughoboto Branch.
