Bible Society of India, Dimapur releases second edition of Liangmai Masanbo Bible at Liangmai Baptist Church, Dimapur on February 15.

Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): The Bible Society of India (BSI), Dimapur releases second edition of Liangmai Masanbo Bible at Liangmai Baptist Church, Dimapur on February 15. 

Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary, BSI, Dimapur in a press release stated that Rev Dr Alungbou Newmai, Secretary Liangmai Christian Literature Society, Manipur & Nagaland chaired the releasing ceremony. Rev Widabou, Pastor UBC TML LNBA-M invoked the blessing of God. 

Rev Namjinpi, Chief Editor gave a brief report that initially Christian Literature Committee was formed in 1955, which was reformed  during the 3rd Triennial Fellowship Meeting of the LNBA (M) and changed its nomenclature to Liangmai Christian Literature Society (Manipur  & Nagaland) under the leadership of  Azu Newmai and Rev Dr H Newmai. The reformation aimed to initiate Liangmai Bible translation under Bible Society of India, it stated.

The first Holy Bible in Liangmai was released on February 8, 2001 at LNBA (M), Centre Church, Tamei, Manipur. After 14 year BSI approved for minor correction and was released on February 25, 2015 at Rianglong Baptist Church. In 2019 the LNBA requested BSI to give another chance for revision. By God’s grace, the second revision completed and was released on February 15, 2025. He appreciated the Senior Translation Advisor Miyijungla and Review Committee Members and all the supporters.

. Miyijungla brought greetings from the BSI Shillong Translation Centre. She acknowledged the hard work of Chief Editor and Review Committee Members. She shared the ministry of the BSI and appeal to the churches to continue to support so that the Bible can be given to those who do not have the Bible in their heart languages. 

The Masanbo Bible was released by Rev Dr Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary, BSI, Dimapur Auxiliary. The shared words of encouragement to read and mediate the Bible as they now have the Word of God in their heart language. “The Word of God is living, active and powerful to transform the life of individuals, churches and society. The Liangmai Christians of Manipur and Nagaland work together under Liangmai Christian Literature Society. There is a strong of bond of unity among the people.”

Dr NR Newmai Host Pastor gave the welcome address, Rev Kitanwi Chewang, Chairman of LCLS proposed vote of thanks and Rev Kamwang Rentta Former Secretary LCLS M &N pronounced benediction.
