BSI Tening Branch marks 35th anniversary

Tening, May 6 (MExN): The Bible Society of India (BSI), Tening Branch, celebrated its 35th anniversary at Tening Nam Baptist Phumling on May 5, with participation from eight churches under the branch.

According to a press release from BSI Dimapur, each church deputed a pastor and four deacons for the celebration, which was also attended by members of the local church congregation. The programme began with thanksgiving for the ministry and growth of the BSI over the years.

Delivering the anniversary message on the theme “God’s Word, Eternal Word” based on the Gospel of Gospel of John, Rev Dr Yiepetso Wezah, Senior Auxiliary Secretary, BSI Dimapur spoke on the eternal nature of God’s Word and its role in guiding believers towards salvation through Jesus Christ.

Citing the books of Isaiah, Romans, 2 Timothy, Matthew, and Revelation, he emphasised that God’s Word is eternal, unfailing, and remains enduring beyond the physical world.

Rev Dr Wezah also highlighted the role of BSI in translating, publishing, and distributing the Bible to churches and communities.

All the individual believers and Churches are partnering to reach God’s Word to the unreached groups of people, he added. 

During the programme, Rev Kamwang Rentta, Pastor of Town Baptist Church, released a souvenir commemorating the occasion. Greetings were also conveyed by Marwati, Assistant Officer, BSI Dimapur Auxiliary. 

Special songs and prayers formed part of the celebration, the release added.
