BSL-2 lab technician tests positive for COVID-19 in Tuensang

Tuensang, July 8 (MExN): One BSL-2 laboratory technician in Tuensang tested positive for COVID-19 on July 7. The technician is currently admitted to COVID Care Centre, Tuensang for isolation and all his contacts have been quarantined and further test are ongoing.


This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant during the Tuensang District Task Force for COVID-19 meeting held in the DC’s Conference Hall on July 8, according to a DIPR report. 


The DC chairing the meeting briefed the house on the BSL-2 laboratory which is currently being set up at the COVID-19 Hospital, Tuensang. He apprised the house on the need to hasten the completion of the BSL-2 laboratory. 


The house discussed the fire at Loyem ground on July 6 which burned some traditional Morungs being used as kitchen to prepare food for the quarantine centres. It agreed to reconstruct the Morungs at the earliest.
