The All Unions and Associations of BSNL (AUAB) will be organizing a series of agitations to press for long pending demands including implementation of 3rd Pay Revision, allotment of 4G spectrum to BSNL, payment of pension contribution on the actual basic pay, pension revision and settlement of superannuation benefits to the directly recruited employees.
Addressing a press conference on Monday, representatives of the AUAB, NE-II Circle Dimapur, informed that the series of agitations will kick start on October 30 with dharnas at all levels, followed by rallies in all circles and districts on November 14 and mobilization of BSNL employees for further struggles including strikes if the demands are not settled by November 30 next.
AUAB representatives informed that the agitations have been chalked out as despite the assurances given by the Union Minister of State for Communications, Manoj Sinha, on February 24, 2018, during a meeting with AUAB, the demands have so far not been fulfilled.
“It is highly disturbing to note that the DoT, which is supposed to take action for implementing the assurances given by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications, has not taken any action for the past eight months…., the DoT is denying justice to the 1.85 lakh executives and non-executives of BSNL and about 3.5 lakh employees retired from BSNL”, stated a AUAB press note released to the media.
