Kohima, October 6 (MExN): The Baptist Theological College (BTC), Pfutsero has opened its Nursery and Forestry Training Centre at a function held on October 5 at the college chapel. Gracing the inaugural ceremony as the guest of honour, Thenucho Tunyi, former Home Minister emphasized the importance of preserving nature.
District Forest Officer, Phek, also spoke on the occasion. BTC principal Dr. Vekutulu L. Veyie thanked the Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt. of Nagaland, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Govt. of Nagaland; BTC Board of Trustee chairman and members and the former principal of BTC, Dr. Eyingbeni H. Nienu, under whose collective leadership and initiatives the Nursery and Forestry Training Centre could become a reality.
Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o, Executive Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council, EAC, Pfutsero, Razukhru Vasa, Chairman, Board of Trustees, BTC, Ranger and staff, Forest Department, Pfutsero, BTC staff and faculty members attended the inaugural ceremony.
After the inauguration, the officials and faculty proceeded to Rukizu forest land for a dedicatory prayer led by Rev. Dr. Chekrovei Cho-o.
