‘Building Block for Peace’

Kohima, September 20 (MExN): Peace Club Kohima Chapter organized one day peace meet at Don Bosco College Kohima on the theme ‘Building Block for Peace’ on September 17.  

“Today our society, Naga in particular needs to build blocks for peace and remove all the stumbling block that is hindering our paths,” said Victor Yhome a social activist while speaking as resource person. “The stumbling blocks like tribalism, unemployment, bad governance, corruptions, drug abuse, alcoholism, gender discriminations, egoism and lack of spirituality has to be wipe out of our society,” he added.  

He further lamented that technology addiction has become a major problem among the youths in our society which created negative impacts in the society and at the individual level and urged upon the youths to use wisely. In his concluding remark he quoted “your attitude determines your altitude” and he encouraged the participants to be determined and listen to their heart.  

Exhorting the gathering, Dr. Fr. Suresh Sdb, Principal of Don Bosco College Kohima asserted that, happiness and peace comes from detachment and contentment. “If we are detached and contented then we become an agent of peace.” He ended his session encouraging the peace club members, to build bridges not walls or fences in our society.  

R.K John, Project Coordinator of Peace Channel presented the activities and mission of the organization in the state and the region. A press release informed that the programme was attended by over 70 Peace Club members from Alder College, Don Bosco College, Oriental College and St. Joseph’s College Jakhama.
