A much needed website to cater to all information and database for Dzükou Valley is on the pipeline. Keeping in mind that Dzükou Valley is a tourist hotspot of the region and considering the importance of online presence, the Southern Angami Youth Organization (SAYO) on Monday informed that the website will be launched latest by September this year.

Speaking to The Morung Express, SAYO officials said, the latest step is being undertaken with “a view to connect with travel agencies, national, international tourists vis-a-vis tourist guides in the region and to provide whatever information about Dzükou.”

According to SAYO, data collection on areas to explore around Dzükou is being done and historical information, particulars of the ecology including flora and fauna which will be given in the website.

“We would like to come up with concrete information so that when a customer logs in, all directories are in proper place,” the SAYO official said.

Through the website, the official informed that online booking system for entry will be introduced. Other undertakings including separate provisions for using DSLRs, drones or film making equipment, etc. would also be added.

The SAYO is also considering coming up with a separate body—the Dzükou Valley Eco Tourism Management Authority, which will be governed by the SAYO,  to cater to better management, monitoring of movement and any form of exchanges in the Valley.

Management of the valley has been a humongous task for the SAYO and while it has been improving over the years, the website is expected to strengthen and enforce the existing guidelines put down by the organisation especially with regard to entry and exit of visitors at legal entry points; waste management activities or use and misuse of provisions, the SAYO official maintained.
