Bulk Milk Cooler installed at Thekrejuma Village

Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): Bulk Milk Cooler (BMC) of 200 litres capacity was inaugurated on July 25 at Thekrejuma Village, Kohima District.  Dr. N. Rongsentemjen Ao, Additional Director, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Managing Director, Nagaland State Dairy Cooperative Federation Ltd, speaking at the function as chief guest remarked that the day is a significant day in the light of milk culture taking root in the village with the installation of Bulk Milk Cooler.  

While congratulating the villagers and dairy farmers, he emphasized the need to increase milk productivity in the village. Further he encouraged the farmers to take up dairying as an economic activity. He pointed out that dairy cattle gives much higher cash returns in gross income comparing to paddy cultivation. Highlighting the transformation the erstwhile white revolution has brought about in the country to the highest milk producer in the world today, he appreciated the initiatives of our Naga farmers for coming forward to take up dairying and embracing a new milk culture hitherto unknown to us. Milk, besides its nutritional value has economic potentials.  

Dr. Mhasizokho, Chief Executive Officer informed in a press release that the Bulk Milk Cooler is sponsored by the Nagaland State Dairy Cooperative Federation Ltd. and is being managed by Theja Dairy Cooperative Society Ltd. The programme was chaired by Dr. Mhasizokho, Chief executive Officer, DIMUL and vote of thanks was proposed by Rüngutuo, Chairman, Theja Dairy Cooperative Society Ltd.
