DIMAPUR, JANUARY 3 (MExN): In what seems to be a well-organised gang of burglar in town, the Residency Colony, Dimapur was struck by these gangsters who decamped with cash and jewelry in broad day light when the occupants of the house were attending New Year service at around 11 am. This was informed in a press note issued by Simon Kelio, Chairman of Residency Colony Council, Dimapur.
According to the press note, the manner in which the burglars intruded into the compound, by breaking open the main gate and breaking into the master bed-room and decamping with money and jewels appears to be the handiwork of well organised gang.
The owner of the house immediately informed the police and filed an FIR at the West Police Station, Dimapur. The Residency Colony Council has viewed with deep concern the spurt in such incident of burglary and condemned in no uncertain term the dacoity committed on such an important occasion as New Year and called upon the law enforcing agency to spare no efforts in nabbing the culprit and bring to book the perpetrator at the earliest.
The Council also appealed to all the residents particularly the Youths and Vigilant Committee of the colony to remain vigil round the clock to deter the gangster to have free-run in the colony. The Council also through this press release reiterated that if any thieves and burglars are caught within the colony’s jurisdiction no leniency will be shown and severe action will be initiated as per the Resolution of the Colony.
