DIMAPUR, JULY 3 (MExN): In a significant achievement for the Dimapur District Health Department, the Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) at Burma Camp and Duncan Bosti have been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification for the second time.
The certification, granted on June 2, recognises the centres' adherence to national benchmarks in healthcare quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
External assessments were carried out at UPHC Burma Camp by Dr Utkrasht Prajapati and Dr Bimlesh Kumar on June 2 and 3, and at UPHC Duncan Bosti by Dr Cecil Ahongshangbam and Stephanie P on June 9 and 10.

Both facilities were found to have met the rigorous NQAS criteria, reflecting the concerted efforts of healthcare staff, medical officers, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), Hospital Management Committee (HCMC) members, and other stakeholders, a press release issued by the IEC Bureau Section, Office of the Chief Medical Officer stated.
The Dimapur District Health Department acknowledged the contributions of Chief Medical Officer Dr T Temsu Longkumer, the State NQAS team, District Vertical Programme Officers, NUHM Dimapur Consultant, and the District Quality Manager for their continuous support and coordination.
The NQAS certification is not only a marker of credibility but also assures the public of the quality of care being delivered at these centres. As part of the recognition, the certified UPHCs will receive citations and monetary incentives for the next three years.
The department congratulated both UPHCs and encouraged other healthcare units in the district to strive for similar excellence through NQAS certification.
