Business governance workshop held in Mokokchung

Business Governance Workshop for women entrepreneurs was organised in Mokokchung on October 30.

MOKOKCHUNG, October 30 (MExN): A one-day Business Governance Workshop for women entrepreneurs was organised by SANKALP-District Hub for Empowerment of Women and the District Administration in collaboration with the Women Entrepreneurs Network Nagaland (WENN) in Mokokchung on October 30.

The workshop, held at the conference hall of the DC's Office, was conducted for aspiring and existing women entrepreneurs, a press release said.

Nangsheba Lamliu, Functional Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Mokokchung; Alemjungla Jamir, Founder of Naga Bowl; and Zakietsono Jamir, Founder of Coffeelady Roastery and Brews, served as resource persons.

They shared in-depth knowledge and encouraged participants to leverage government initiatives designed to support women-led enterprises, the release stated.

The workshop covered key topics, including the legal and regulatory framework for businesses, licensing procedures, financial literacy, and government schemes for entrepreneurs. An interactive session on financial tools and strategies for beginners was also held.

The event saw participation from local women entrepreneurs, startup owners, and aspiring businesswomen.

The guest of honour, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung commended the organisers for hosting a ‘timely programme’ aimed at empowering women with essential knowledge on business governance and financial literacy.

He encouraged participants to make the best use of government schemes and adopt innovative approaches in their ventures, while also acknowledging the growing contributions of women entrepreneurs in fostering the district's economic growth and community development.
