Dimapur, January 21 (MExN): All shop keepers and other business establishments of Wokha Town are hereby directed renewed their permits within one month commencing January 25- February 25 without failure.
A press notification from Administrator of Wokha Town Council (WTC), Hotolu Swu said that the concerned entities has to come personally and renew the permits.
“Anybody coming after the above fixed date shall be penalized with late fine of Rs. 20 per day,” it added requesting for compliance with the order to avoid any problem.
Meanwhile, on the issue of business permits, the WTC maintained that it is the sole authority empowered by the Nagaland Municipal Act of 2001.
Through the act, the government has empowered the municipals and town council for issuing various business permits and to levy the required taxes for revenue sources whose offices are functioning through the revenue income, WTC informed.
This is done, the council added, to streamline the systematic official works in the office and avoid any future complication in the discharge of official duties.
In this regard, the WTC administrator informed that activities or trades requiring proper permits from its office are: night bazaar, import and export, mela, circus, concert, weekly bazaar, any type of gambling, hoarding & advertisements, lotteries and permit for street vendors.
“Such permits issued from any other offices shall not be allowed to run the business” it asserted adding that the notification from WTC should be considered as a “Government Order.”
