DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 3 (MExN): C-Edge College was today declared as a tobacco free zone in function held at the college’s Manen Hall.
A press note from the college said that this move was made due to concern for “public domain, economy and health of all,” and with the initiative of the CEC Student’s Forum.
Dr. C. Tetso, Nodal Officer of National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) and his team attended the event. He stressed on the guidelines for Tobacco Free in schools/colleges, and the determinants of health because of tobacco consumption. He mentioned that to make an institution tobacco free is a huge initiative and that tobacco free environment is going to change one’s attitude forever.
The first step towards today’s declaration was made on December 8 with the Tobacco Awareness orientation held with the presence of Dr. C. Tetso. “He has been a major influence with his presence and expertise,” the note added.
