NCC cadets of C-Edge College conducted a cleanliness and tree plantation drive on September 28 at Naga United Village.

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, SEPTEMBER 29 (MExN): In the lead-up to “Swachh Bharat Diwas,” the NCC cadets of C-Edge College conducted a cleanliness and tree plantation drive on September 28 at Naga United Village. The event, aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community service, saw active participation from 28 cadets, a press release stated.

The cleanliness drive commenced from the college gate and continued up to Chathe River Bridge. Prior to the start, the cadets assembled at the college to prepare for the day’s activities. The cadets were equipped with 10 sacks donated by Promod.
Additional support came from the Naga United Village Council, which provided water, and well-wishers who donated extra sacks and juice to the team.

The efforts of the cadets resulted in the collection of 21 sacks of plastic waste and other disposables from the surrounding areas, particularly around Naga United Village. The cleanliness drive concluded successfully, marking a significant contribution to the ongoing Swachh Bharat Mission.

After a short break, the cadets resumed the day’s activities with a tree plantation drive. Twenty tree saplings, donated by the college Principal Dr Chubatola Aier, were planted around the campus, furthering the College commitment to environmental sustainability.
The NCC unit of C-Edge College remains committed to community service and environmental conservation and looks forward to organizing more such initiatives in the future, the press release said.
