Grade-III posts recruitment still under departments concerned
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Cabinet on November 28 re-examined the amendment of Regulation 15 (I) of the Nagaland Public Service Commission (Chairman, Members & Staff) Regulations 2008 and recruitment of various posts.
The meeting comes against the backdrop of the sit-in protest held by ACAUT, PSAN at New Secretariat recently demanding that the decision to scrap Class-III posts from the purview of the NPSC be revoked; declaring marks and answer keys in all stages of NPSC examination and declaration of waiting list, and immediate termination of all backdoor appointments made after June 6, 2016 among others.
According to the minutes of the Cabinet meeting, all grade-III posts would still continue to be recruited by the concerned departments. The concerned departments shall advertise the vacant posts and recruitment shall be made by the departmental recruitment board.
The meeting minutes stated that the P& AR Department shall ascertain the recruitment procedures of grade-III employees of other NE states. The P&AR Department shall review the Office Memorandum dated August 3, 1995 with regard to provision of waiting list to remove confidentiality.
The Cabinet meeting also decided that the NPSC shall declare the written and interview marks on declaration day of the result, while the oral marks in the NPSC was reduced from 75 to 55 marks.
The meeting also decided that the NPSC should set minimum and maximum benchmarks in line with the system practiced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The NPSC shall also select candidates to sit for the Civil Services Mains Exam in the ratio of 1:10.
Well qualified persons having good track record and integrity, of which majority should have administrative experience as per the constitutional provision should be appointed as chairman and members of the NPSC, the Cabinet meeting held.
For the NCS & Allied Services oral interview, senior officer nominated by the Chief Secretary and DGP shall be included in the interview board, it decided.
