Kohima, December 4 (MExN): The Global Shapers Kohima hub of Global Shapers, World Economic Forum (WEF) held its Café Conversation with Rev Frederick Nile, an Australian politician and an ordained Christian Minister on December 3 at Hotel Vivor Kohima.
During the conversation, Rev Nile shared his experiences with youth groups Net Reach Programme operating day and night in the streets of Sydney. He spoke of his experiences in the army as a Company Commander wherein he initiated a more Christian approach to his company and claimed that the company responded well giving them good morale, pride in themselves and produced an outstanding result.
In his life experience, he said that God spoke to him through vision and parables and his joining of politics was a calling. As a Christian Legislator, he supports and advocates reforms on adoption laws, drug abuse amongst youth, rape rates and pornography, domestic violence, youth violence, youth rural suicides, compensation for medically acquired HIV & AIDs victims, juvenile justice, births, deaths and marriage records.
Rev Nile has also fought against Abortion Law Reform (Miscellaneous Acts Amendment) Bill in 2016 who has voted against the bill and opposed same sex marriage and homosexuality but is against directed attack or violence against malicious verbal or physical attack, a DIPR report stated.
He is a part of the Christian Democratic Party (CDP) which recently introduced a Bill into the State Parliament to protect faith based institutions and individuals who wish to express their belief in the public square.
The Global Shapers and Global Shapers Kohima Hub Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum (WEF) which has enabled 371 hubs in World’s major cities. The Kohima Global Shapers is one such hub with young individuals who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to the society.
‘Café Conversations’ started with the idea of providing a platform for our young Naga people to come and listen to stories/anecdotes/experiences, discuss and share ideas for the future that we want.
