CAKSU holds scholarship programme

Dimapur, June 29 (MExN): The Chakhro Angami Kuda Students’ Union (CAKSU) on June 28 organised a Scholarship Programme at CAKU Hall, Phevima village, aimed at supporting students from economically weaker sections who have demonstrated academic promise.

Held under the theme “Empowering Students,” the event saw the distribution of one-time grant scholarships to 12 students from six villages. The initiative was described as a timely step to uplift and encourage students facing financial hardship.

The programme was led by CAKSU General Secretary Visimetuo Nagi, who also delivered the welcome address. Finance Secretary Kevisenou Belho offered the invocation prayer, while CAKSU President Alenou Delie, in her keynote address, emphasized the transformative power of education.

Delie highlighted the Union’s vision to empower students, particularly those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, by promoting educational support. She urged students to persevere through challenges and remain committed to their academic goals.

Education and Statistical Secretary of the Chakhrüoma Students’ Union, Vibozo Tetso, also addressed the gathering. He called on students to stay focused and applauded CAKSU for taking a noble and timely initiative to support deserving students.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Women Co-ordinator of CAKSU, Kevisetouno Nakhro.
