Mishilimi Kuqhakulu Dimapur celebrates silver jubilee

Pointing out the fast changing climatic conditions around the globe, MLA Y. Vikheho Swu has called upon the people to conserve bio-diversity spots and also to plant more trees for betterment of future generations.

Speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of Mishilimi Kuqhakulu Dimapur (MKD) at Mandeville Garden, Purana Bazaar, Dimapur on June 20 as the special guest, Vikheho said trees would not only help in combating heat but would also economically help the people depending on the type of trees they plant. In this regard, Vikheho said he had a vision to start wood processing unit under Pughoboto, the area which he represents as the local MLA. 

He urged the government servants not to forget work culture of the forefathers but to renew their hardworking nature with truth and honesty. He lauded the MKD for taking social responsibility and constructing a waiting shed near Nikos Hospital, Dimapur commemorating its silver jubilee.

Earlier, Rev Akhato S. Sheqi released the jubilee souvenir. A moment of silence was observed remembering those who died.

During the programme, a host of traditional performances were presented by MKD members.
