Nagaland CAWD & Taxes Advisor Kudecho Khamo called for a wider movement of cleanliness throughout Phek district.
Addressing the monthly meeting of Phek DPDB meeting held at the conference hall of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Pfütsero on July 14, he directed the district administration to issue an order for a cleanliness drive to be conducted across the towns and villages of Phek district on the first Saturday of every month.
Khamo, who is also chairman of Phek District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) announced that awards will be given to the cleanest towns and villages in an effort to promote cleanliness in the district.
Khamo encouraged each department to take up a model iconic project in the district to inspire and support progressive and hardworking farmers and entrepreneurs.
He called for collective efforts from government officials and all other stakeholders to achieve Viksit Nagaland in line with Viksit Bharat.
Highlighting the high unemployment rate, he urged leaders to guide society, asserting that Nagas have a bright future beyond government jobs and can excel through prayer, hard work, and honesty.
Khamo also felicitated and commended Padma Shri Sano Vamuzo, who was recently awarded the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) 2025 Congress Quinquennial Human Rights Award. The honour was conferred by the largest Baptist association in the world. He appreciated her contributions to society at large.
Furthermore, he stressed the need for strong attendance and urged members to be more sincere, committed, and dedicated in order to fulfill public aspirations as a team. Noting various government schemes and welfare programs, he said it is up to those in leadership—political, administrative, and bureaucratic—to ensure that these benefits reach the deserving at the grassroots.
MLA Dr Neisatuo Mero acknowledged DPDB Chairman and Advisor Kudecho Khamo for giving Pfütsero the privilege of hosting the meeting, and appreciated the administration at Pfütsero, headed by the ADC.
Expressing interest in the solar rooftop project being implemented in the country and the state, he said it is a good programme and sought the support of the Power Department for more outreach so that people in the district can avail the facility.
He also emphasized the importance of the cleanliness drive being carried out by the district administration and called for it to be taken up with seriousness.
