A press note from the BJP CDANSC termed the violence in the two states as a “total violation of human rights and called for peaceful existence and communal harmony between the Karbi and Rengma peoples.
It called upon the two communities to stress on forgiveness, brotherhood and reconciliation.
The cell condemned the Assam Congress Government for "total failure in protecting the lives and properties" of innocent victims and for “totally neglecting the law and order situation in Karbi Anglong.” “In the many years of their rule, the inter-tribal fabric of Assam has been totally destroyed,” it added.
It further demanded that relief and rehabilitation be handed over to the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, in order to handle the situation prudently. It assured that “after the BJP led NDA comes to power; all the stakeholders and public civil bodies will be thoroughly consulted for ending, once and for all, the inter-tribal conflict in Karbi Anglong.”
The cell asserted that the nature of the political imbroglio and socio-economic disparities will be analyzed in depth and that a long lasting solution will be instituted through "mutual understanding and peaceful dialogue.”
The BJP Central Defence Analysis & National Security Cell was formed in 2013 with 11 Central standing Committee Members. It was formed with the aim to develop into a resource hub for authentic, timely and pragmatic inputs to the organizational and legislative wings of the party, while in opposition, and to the executive, when in government.
