Calling aspiring entrepreneurs to “The Green business Challenge 2016”

The Road Show for “The Green Business Challenge 2016” reached Dimapur today and was held at Hotel Saramati. A contest intended for entrepreneurs of North East region, it is designed to unleash Agribusiness ideas into reality.  

This is a joint initiative of ICCO Cooperation and Innovative Change Collaborative Services. Pvt. Ltd. (ICCSPL) with a mission to find and foster Agriprenurs with innovative ideas that address the modern day agriculture challenges. The Challenge is open to Start-up/ students/entrepreneurs with business ideas on Agri and Agri-allied sectors and also emerging Agri based entrepreneurs/enterprises focusing on the Eastern & the North Eastern region of India. The Focus Sectors are Post-harvest and food harvesting, Agri-Inputs, Agri Implements & Farm machineries, Cold Chain, Retailing & E-tailing, Organic farming, Dairying & Milk processing, Bio-Agriculture, Animal Feed, Fisheries, Supply chain management, animal Husbandry. Representatives from the Challenge, Jyoti Bikash Nath, Agri Business Incubation Expert and Rimi Phukan in an interaction with media personnel stated that the Green Business Challenge aims to connect as many North East entrepreneurs as possible in one common platform.  

They stated that Agriculture in the North East region is a much neglected sector which has lots of potential for growing a business environment. “There has been great negligence from respective state governments, hence ICCO felt the need to build a common platform. We are looking at the NE to integrate and develop Agri business, invest and encourage entrepreneurs. People have business ideas but they don’t know how to go about it, so we feel this is the need of the hour. We are looking for dynamic people who want to take their visions to the next level,” they stated.  

Once the application process is complete, the organizers would select ten finalists, out from which 3 winners would be chosen as the winners of the Green Business Challenge 2016. The challenge offers mentoring in essential business skills, networking with Corporates, Entrepreneurs, Government agencies, and Investors. It also offers a chance to win cash prize, business incubation support with feedback on business ideas from top industry ideas.
