CALT conducts social work, plant tree saplings at DC office Chumoukedima

DIMAPUR, MAY 3 (MExN): The Chumukedima Ao Lanur Telongjem (CALT) on Wednesday conducted a social work at Chumoukedima DC Complex on the occasion of Moatsu festival. With the approval of Deputy Commissioner Chumoukedima, around 150 Ao youths of Chumukedima Town took part in this social work. 

A press release issued by CALT media cell informed that the road leading from the first gate of DC Complex to the DC office gate, parking lot and the area surrounding the office complex was cleared of vegetation. 

To mark this occasion, various tree saplings were also planted around the DC Complex. Claiming that this kind of social welfare project is a first of its kind since the centre of attention during festivals has always been on merry making, it hoped that this trend is taken up by rest of the Naga brethrens in the coming days. 

CALT meanwhile acknowledged the DC Abinav Shivam for giving approval to conduct the social work and SDO (C), Temsuchuba for providing refreshments. It also expressed gratitude to S Bendangmongba Imsong, Ranger, Dimapur division, Rangapahar Range for donating tree saplings.
