Campaign on Human-Animal Conflict Mitigation

Phek, July 19 (DIPR): An awareness campaign on Human-Animal Conflict Mitigation was held at Phek Town council conference hall, Phek on July 18 which was organized by the Department of Forest in collaboration with Fingerprint and Castle Group and sponsored by MoEF& CC, Government of India.  

Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr. Neikesalie (Nicky) Kire graced as the chief guest where he called upon the people to live together with animals because they are also living beings. For this we need to preserve wildlife, he said and called upon the gathering to change our mindset for better living. He also called upon the gathering to plant trees and stated that community participation is a must to achieve our desired goal. He also appealed to the gathering to spread the message in their own communities.  

Keynote address was given by Chief Wild Warden, Nagaland, S.P Tripathi IFS. A short speech was delivered by Phek Deputy Commissioner, Murohu Chotso who appreciated the department for taking the initiative to preserve wild life and at the same time appealed to the villagers to strictly maintain laws in their own villages so that our wild life are preserved and safe.  

Resource persons from Fingerprint and Castle Group presented their activities. Speech on behalf of village functionaries was delivered by Kewepelo Tsuhah, VCC Chizami. Vote of thanks was delivered by DFO, Phek, Rongsenlemla Imchen IFS.
